Alternatives in Mental Health promotes alternative and complementary therapies for mental health service users and other people with experience of mental distress who do not normally have access to these therapies. Our main aim is to provide free and low-cost complementary therapies, primarily to help people cope with stress and emotional difficulties and to enhance well being. A variety of therapies will be offered by trained practitioners sensitive to people's needs. We also hope to work with day centres, hospitals and user/survivor groups. Currently this project is run entirely by volunteers and supported by Lambeth Mind and Southwark Mind. We are a not for profit group and depend on funders.
